Gender Spotlight Session

On December 12-14, 2022, the Summit on Effective Development Cooperation 2022 will be held in Geneva. Within the Summit the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD),  UN Women and Feminist Group of the CPDE  will organize a review session on gender equality and development effectiveness on December 13, 2022. The purpose of this review session is to call on donor states to finally take urgent, concrete measures to increase investment in the implementation of state programs on women’s rights and gender equality. Governments and donors have committed themselves to reforms so that funding for women’s rights and gender equality can be clearly defined. Both governments and donor organizations clearly understand, and have recognized in various strategic documents, that the success and effectiveness of development seriously depends on the level of solving the problems of women’s rights and achieving gender equality. The Summit in Geneva will bring together representatives of states at a high level, as well as representatives of donor organizations. Since this discussion involves both governments and leaders of partner organizations / donors, as well as civil society, there is an opportunity to influence strategic decisions. That is why this review session was initiated.
