UN Commission on the Status of Women Information

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is an official Commission of the United Nations which focuses on the rights and empowerment of women and global gender equality. It’s an intergovernmental body consisting of 45 Member State governments of the UN. As the Secretariat of the CSW, UN Women (an official UN agency), supports all aspects of the Commission’s work.

To attend the UN CSW68 inside the UN Headquarters, you must be one of the representatives of an ECOSOC-accredited organization.

The official CSW68 is a separate process from the NGO CSW68 Forum. NGO CSW/NY hosts the NGO CSW Forum as a civil society gathering parallel to the official UN CSW. The UN CSW is organized by UN Women.

For questions about official UN CSW68 processes such as registration via Indico, UN grounds passes, written and oral statements, and side events, please contact UN Women at csw@unwomen.org.

For more information about the official UN CSW, visit UN Women’s website.
