The aim of the upcoming regional conference is to plan and further the joint actions of women’s organizations against the growing religious fundamentalism that negatively affects women’s rights.

The upcoming conference is a continuation of the activities of the Forum of Women’s NGOs of Kyrgyzstan to combat gender-based violence, launched in 2018 at the initiative of the Global Fund for Women. This activity included a regional conference of women’s organizations in Central Asia, Russia and Eastern Europe in Bishkek in August 2018 to develop strategies for women’s organizations to resist growing religious resistance, creating a space for discussion and informing women’s organizations and other interested organizations.
