Online School on «Gender Equality and Women’s Rights»

The Forum of Women’s NGOs of Kyrgyzstan conducted an online school on “Gender Equality and Women’s Rights” for  women activists, women’s organizations, women deputies of aiyl keneshes, representatives of local self-government bodies and state bodies.

The purpose of the online school is to increase the capacity and confidence of women in Kyrgyzstan to participate in public-political processes to improve the status of women.

Within the framework of the online school, experienced and interesting speakers shared and discuss with participants the topics related to women’s participation in public life, which will not leave you indifferent. There were 10 trainings in online format for 2 hours each.

Below are the topics and dates of the online classes within online school:

  1. The role of women’s movement in achieving gender equality and protection of women’s rights – October 9
  2. Participation of women of local communities in the development and implementation of programs of socio-economic development of the city / aiyl aimag (PSED) – October 16
  3. Effective monitoring of state and municipal services at the local level – October 20
  4. Public hearings. Civic budget – October 23
  5. International and national legislation in the sphere of gender equality and women’s rights – October 27
  6. Protection of women and girls who became victims of violence and found themselves in a difficult life situation – October 30
  7. International and national obligations of the Kyrgyz Republic in the sphere of women’s entrepreneurship – November 3
  8. Hate speech and gender violence in the online space of Kyrgyzstan – November 9
  9. Environmental Rights of Citizens in Kyrgyzstan – November 16
  10. Digital Technologies for Political Leadership – November 20
